May Wine School: Veneto

The Veneto region has became Italy’s biggest producer of wine in the last decade, and for good reason! The Veneto region stretches across northeastern Italy, from the Alpine border with Austria to the lagoons of Venice. The the variation in microclimates allows for a diverse varietal of grapes which produce delicious sparkling wine, bright crisp white wines and big bold reds.

From white wines like Pinot Grigio and Soave, to the full-flavored, smoky red Amarone, Veneto wines offer a spectrum of flavors unmatched in Italy. The native Corvina grape is used to make Veneto’s most noteworthy red wines, such as bright Bardolino and Valpolicella and the more intense “baby Amarone,” Valpolicella ripasso. Learn about these and more during our May Wine School: Veneto!
